PINK!

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Wow its been a while. Sorry! Everything has been so busy around here and Ive gotten pretty caught up in it. Last Friday was our schools “pink out” for breast cancer awareness, There was pink EVERYWHERE! They have this fantastic slogan, “Keep second base safe” and it was pretty cool to see so many faculty, staff, and students wearing it. Even king Alfred got to wear one (no big deal, I got to climb up the statue and put the shirt on him! http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.php?pid=3293429&id=6872547482 ) wee all grouped around him and it was just a huge sea of pink. We took a picture and it got to be in a bunch of newspapers. Friday night was the pink ball, it was great! Everyone was all dressed up and pretty! Haha. Saturday was the pink out football game and the football players all got pink armbands and mouth guards. Basically it was a school wide awareness raising event and plus, we got to donate a lot of money to Susan G. Komen. Whohooo! Okay I’m off to class. Have a good Monday!

Gettin’ Chilly!

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Hey Guys!
Happy Wednesday! (I just realized thats what I said last week too…woops!) So this week has been kind of chilly. And of course I’m the girl who forgets her winter coats at home. So I’m shivering in my fleece jacket. They turned the heat on yesterday though. It got so warm in my room that my roommate and I had to open a window. But then of course we got really cold…eh’ it happens. So my parents came up for family weekend, it was really nice to see them! We got to do all sorts of stuff like go see a stunt group and I got to show them around campus which was neat because theyd never really seen it before. One fo the things I love about Alfred is how you can go into town and youll see your professors, and a lot of classmates. You know everybody here! When we were in town we ran into two of my professors and I got to introduce my parents which was super cool. Hmm any more interesting stories…I went for a bike ride yesterday! It was really fun and beautiful. I only went for like 5 miles because it was getting dark and I didn’t want to get hit by a car but even five miles was a ton of fun. I was nervous because my bike needed some work done but I brought it to the bike hub and they fixed it up for free! It was really great and I also met some people that im going to start riding with! How fun is that?! Today ive got three classes, Economics, environmentalism and introduction to geographic information systems. I’m hoping that we don’t have a quiz in GIS but in case we do uim going to go study! Thanks for reading!

Happy Friday everybody!

I am one of those super lucky people who don’t have any classes Friday so my week really ended yesterday.  Unfortunately the amount of homework I have will keep me more than busy enough!  This weekend I’m planning on helping to build a mini golf course inside of the campus center and going to a dance party with a live DJ!  I’m definitely excited.   Oh, and I’m participating in the dating game on campus.  I’m not quite sure how I feel about that one yet haha…What else can I talk about…its starting to get a little bit colder on campus.  It’s so pretty here once the leaves all start to turn colors.  I can’t wait!  Ok my shift is over at work so I’m going to go tackle the huge pile of homework I’ve got!
